Our Blandine des Bois, ultimate Strava star and traveling ray of sunshine, chit-chats with us over a fresh pot of filter coffee.
- What was the first ad that got you hooked?
Jeunes et limités from Universal Mobile.
Only people from France will understand the reference, it was a musical commercial advertising the first unlimited mobile plans for young people. The commercial is a delightful mix of jokes and clichés about teenagers and the song has been stuck in my head since 2009. Here’s the link, if you want to have a laugh:
- What did you want to do when you were a kid?
I believe I wanted to become a teacher, undoubtedly attracted by the large number of vacation days.
- As digital campaign strategist, what’s your role at the agency?
Basically, I spend my days having fun with digital campaign tools, automation, data mining and experimenting with new features on social media. All with the goal of helping our customers gain visibility and/or generate conversions!
- What was your path to get to this job?
In terms of studies, I went to Mines Télécom (France) where I obtained a master’s degree in digital marketing.
In terms of professional experience, I started in the marketing department of a large bank. After this experience, I learned acquisition marketing techniques at a lead generation agency in the UK. Then, I joined the Marketing / Communication team of a mobile development agency in Montreal.
After these various trips back and forth between the world of agencies and advertisers, I wanted to return to the agency side and to my specialization: digital marketing! This is how I joined the Rinaldi team!
- Since we are in an Italian agency, what is your favourite coffee?
I’m a fan of lattes! Hot or iced depending on the season. On the other hand, I am a bit lazy, so if I have to make it myself, I opt for filter coffee. Please forgive me, Italian colleagues.
- Outside of the agency, what are your hobbies?
I oscillate between outdoor activities through campsites in Quebec and terraces and wine bars in Montreal. Along with these exciting activities, I love doing second degree humour on my social networks. I am convinced that my hashtags and punchlines are pure gold.
- What inspires you in life?
I would say that I am inspired by all the “doers”, by all the people who dare and who step out of their comfort zone.
This concerns all sorts of areas: someone who publishes their drawings, someone who makes unusual pastries, someone who goes on stage or participates in sporting events or someone who sets up a business…
I am fascinated by the act of surpassing oneself!
